Kindergarten enrolment roadmap
We’re excited to welcome your family to our school community! Explore our step-by-step guide to help make the year before Kindergarten easy and smooth for you and your child.
Meet our current Kindergarten teacher
Currently, we have one Kindergarten class and one combined Kindergarten/Year 1 class. Students are placed into classes based on various factors. If you have any questions about class placement, please feel free to discuss them during your enrolment meeting with the Principal.
Enrol now for 2026
If your child is turning 5 on or before July 31, 2026, you can enrol your child in Kindergarten. Children must be enrolled in school before their sixth birthday. If you are unsure if your child is ready for school, please contact our office to discuss.
Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:

- Apply online: complete our online enrolment application.

Other enrolment details for our school
To enrol your child, our school requires the following:
- Proof of your child's identity (e.g., birth certificate)
- Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement
- 100 points of residential address evidence
If applicable, please also provide copies of:
- Any family law or court orders
- Medical, Health Care Plans, or Emergency Action Plans
- Evidence of disabilities or additional support needs
We encourage you to upload copies of these documents in the supporting documents section of the online enrolment form. Our office staff are here to help, so contact us if you have any questions.

If you don’t want to enrol online, you can download and fill out the enrolment form. Then hand it in at our school's front office.
Key dates for Kindergarten 2026
Your child’s school experience is shaped by the people around them. Our teachers bring experience, care and a passion for learning to every lesson. With a focus on success, they help every child reach their full potential.
The Kindergarten Enrolment interview provides us with an opportunity to get to know you and your child a little better and discuss how we can make the transition to our school a smooth one. It also is a great opportunity to discuss any questions you have about starting school. You and your child will be invited to attend an enrolment meeting to meet our principal, Claire Bradshaw, and discuss any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions before your child starts school.
Once you have completed your child's enrolment and submitted your enrolment evidence, you will be invited to book an enrolment meeting via email.

Please join us for a tour of our beautiful school grounds, innovative classrooms and well equipped facilities. Children are not required to attend though can come if needed.

Come along for an interactive afternoon information session to gather information and learn about starting school, school uniforms, school programs, Fair Play OOSH, Kindergarten Best Start assessment, Literacy & Numeracy, our P&C and canteen, and so more.

Location: meet the Kindergarten teachers at the front gate and we will walk your child to the library, classroom or hall.
In Term 3 & 4, we welcome our 2026 Kindergarten students to attend 5 school sessions to provide your child with an opportunity to meet teachers and peers whilst engaging in play and both literacy and numeracy activities.
Lunchboxes
Good for Kids, Good for life provides information on healthy lunchboxes and food to get our new families off to a great start. Garden Suburb PS is proudly a 'Swap It' school.
We encourage all of our new Kindergarten families to watch the presentation on the Good for Kids website.
Messages will be posted in all school newsletters.
We support using reusable lunch containers. A fruit break during class is encouraged in the morning, please pack a piece of fruit or cut fruit in a container. Lunch starts at 11:10 am. After students finish eating, staff on duty will let them go to play. Students can also enjoy a snack during recess at 2:00 pm.
The school supplies pieces of fruit for students that forget to bring their fruit break. These can be found in the office.
